On Thursday local time, 18-year-old Manchester United youngster Jacob Devaney was recruited by Amorim to participate in the first team training. Devaney has performed well for the Manchester United U21 team this season and served as captain. He has attracted the attention of many Premier League teams.

Jacob Devaney's father, Martin Devaney, is now an assistant coach at League One team Port Vale. Martin responded to a fan who praised Devaney's performance in a joking way on social media.

Martin said: "He is only 18 years old, but his performance has always been outstanding. However, he does not make fancy moves or shoot from 30 yards out in every game, so he does not get much attention, but he can control the game and is a team player. Jacob is Manchester United's best No. 6 player." Martin also included a winking emoji.

With his outstanding performance, Devaney was selected for the Ireland U21 national team. In an interview with the Irish Mail last year, Martin revealed how his son joined Manchester United. He said: "I moved to Barnsley in 2005 and my son Jacob was born there. He was discovered by local Manchester United scouts and attended several elite schools. He signed for Manchester United when he was 6 or 7 years old and he has played there since he was a child and worked very hard.

"Manchester United is of course a very good club and he is a determined kid. Jacob then joined a program to attend a local grammar school and at the age of 14 was offered the opportunity to move to Manchester and train additionally at Manchester United.

"I wasn't sure at the time because he was still a kid. However, Jacob wanted to grow up in that environment, that's what he wanted to do, and Manchester United handled it very well."
