Brazil winger Anthony, who joined Real Betis from Manchester United this summer, recently talked about multiple topics such as his performance not being as expected after joining Manchester United.

Talking about why the performance at Manchester United did not meet expectations

Anthony:

I am a person who is brave enough to take responsibility, and I think the off-court factors have greatly affected my performance. I know my potential and ability. I can't just participate in the World Cup, nor can I just return to the national team. I also take the responsibility of not being able to succeed at Manchester United and fail to achieve the performance I want.

But as I often say, I always have to see the good side of things. During those days at Manchester United, I needed to use that time to see myself clearly. If I shine as soon as I get there, I will most likely lose myself in the future.

Talking about if time goes back, will there be any changes at Manchester United?

Anthony:

I don't think so. Because, like I said, everything has a reason. I went there because God wanted me to go and learn what I said and experienced, and make me a better person and a better father. Before going to Manchester United, I almost signed with Liverpool, but everything has a reason, and the road led me there. I went through negative situations there, won the championship, and had a great experience, so I don’t regret it.

Talking about whether the setbacks experienced will affect your career

Anthony:

I don't think so. Some time ago, when I was in England, my life was always like this, and it was always until the last moment, which was very difficult. I think from the beginning of the youth team, I was almost cut in St. Paul, and I joined the professional team at the end and was transferred. So my life has always been like this, it’s hard, but thank God for guiding me on the right path.

Talking about the World Cup

Anthony:

This is my dream. I have participated in a World Cup once, what a great experience: representing our country, the greatest national team in the world. So for me, participating in the World Cup again is a dream, and I come here to play football and show myself. If God wants to, I hope to be able to participate in the World Cup again, which is the dream of every player.
