According to the "Daily Mail" report, Chelsea winger Sterling has been completely excluded from the first-team plans by head coach Maresca. Sterling's recent public appearance was to guide primary school students at the RS7 Academy he founded in southwest London.
Sterling has been away from first-team training since being told in the summer that he was not part of Maresca's plans. Not only has he been excluded from Chelsea's official squad for the 2025-26 season, he has also been training alone with another abandoned centre-back, Disasi. Maresca publicly confirmed last month that the pair were training at staggered times and venues with the first team and there was "no chance" of returning to his plans.
It is reported that the Professional Footballers' Association has intervened in the matter and communicated with Chelsea to ensure that Sterling and Disasi can continue to receive "appropriate training facilities and guidance." The club have designated dedicated staff to oversee their training at their Cobham base ahead of a potential transfer in January.
