Hello everyone, I want to tell you that I have decided to end my career. I have considered this decision for a long time, but now it is still here.
For those who don't know, I have hip problems, the problem started 11 years ago, in 2017, I had surgery on both hips, with the left side being more serious.
It was a difficult year, and I was very scared...I thought that might be the end of my career, and I was only 25 years old at that time. After the operation was successful, I was able to continue my career for four years.
They told me that over time, things will get worse again, and that's exactly what I'm going through now.
Through huge sacrifices, spending countless hours with physiotherapists, strengthening exercise in the gym, and countless injections and treatments, I successfully doubled my career!
Authentic, only those close to me truly understand this hardship. Everything is hard to come by.
Contesting and training with pain and discomfort has become the norm in my daily life.
For five years, I have to take medication every game to participate in a better state, starting with the lowest dose. In recent times, in order to play, I even started taking the maximum dose two days before the game.
Today I decided to end all this, and today all my efforts have ended here.
Thanks to my parents for being by my side, and for driving me to every game and training session as much as possible so that I can get into the first team.
Thanks to my wife for being by my side unconditionally, and even sleeping in the hospital bed in my most difficult moments...Thanks to her for helping me every day recently. Thank you to my children and my fans, you gave me the strength and energy to move forward - I love you!
I am proud of how to end this chapter. Today, I choose to end all this effort.
This year has been very tough for me, and I have been preparing for every game by training on my bike and in the gym.
I would like to publicly thank Matthias Almiron for allowing me to do so, and my teammates for accepting this. This year, the situation has changed and my training style is no longer accepted, and I fully understand that.
This is why I decided with the club to end in the best possible way. I felt at ease when I ended like this, because I knew I had put all my strength until the last moment without reservation.
Thanks to football, I experienced the feeling of flying. I discovered different countries, cultures, religions... I saw places I never imagined and experienced moments I never imagined.
I want to thank every club I have ever worked for, thank you for trusting me and opening the door to me in your country.
To Riverbed Club, this club that has nurtured me, provides me with everything from food to education, I remember everything, and I will never forget those who have helped me.
Without you, all my achievements would be impossible.
I am grateful for all the staff I met along the way, my former teammates and coaches, my physiotherapists, all my family, my agent Pablo Sawag accompanied me throughout my career, and my parents were always there to support me.
I am proud of my performance at the end of the season and despite the difficulties, I competed in important games and scored goals.
These memories will always remain in my heart and mind.
Thank you, football, for everything you have given me; of course, thank you to all the people who have always supported me, especially those who like to watch me play football!
Thanks to River Plate, Rome, Tottenham, Sevilla and AEK Football Club. You will always have a place in my heart.
