Recalling the last time you were excited or happy about something, what did your brain and body feel like at the moment? Our brains release endorphin, an endorphin, which increases dopamine and lowers cortisol when we feel happy.
"Although exercise is a way to promote the release of endorphine, there are actually many ways to make you feel good," said clinical psychologist Erica Rozmid notes, “Use the natural emotional enhancement mechanism of the brain to focus on activities that make you feel good.”
We consulted mental health experts to understand their favorite activities and can improve emotions; the following are five ways to naturally increase brain beef:
1. Cold bathRozmead pointed out: "When your body is soaked in cold water, it will relieve the initial pain or inappropriateness by releasing brain bets; therefore, taking a three-minute cold bath can improve emotions and improve attention." If conditions permit, you can go to the local water center or bathhouse to consult the service of cold baths; or, taking a cold bath is also a good way to stimulate the release of brain bets.
"Rapiding cold water in the shower can stimulate the nervous system, and once your body is suitable, it will produce a brain-release reaction," explains Courtney Shrum, a certified treatment physician.
2. Singing or hummingSinging and humming are of practical and scientific evidence to mental health. "Use your voice to stimulate the vagus nerves and form a calm and pleasant chemical rebirth," Schlang said. Whether you're at home or walking nearby, you can spend some time exploring your voice and humming to the songs you know.
3. Release your senses"You can enjoy the sunrise and sunset, stroll through nature, or listen to the show," suggests Rozmead, "focus on your sensory enjoyment (touch, taste, smell, hearing and vision) to maximize the secretion of awe and brain-bearing." Focus on the novel experiences you know you will like, but don't forget to stop and enjoy it.
4. Eat dark chocolateBelieve it or not, there are some foods that can actually help promote the secretion of happy hormones. "Cocoa can naturally promote the release of endophthorax and promote the secretion of serotonin," said Schlang. "Deliberate consumption of cocoa can bring pleasure and also promote chemical reactions." You can reward yourself with a dessert that can enhance dopamine and experience the feelings it brings to you after dinner.
5. As everyone knows, doing good will make people feel good, and it is not a consolation effect. "Helping others or doing something generous will activate the reward center of the brain, thereby stimulating the release of endorphine and improving emotions," Schlang said. This can be anything, from opening doors for others to buying goods in old neighborhoods, etc.
